The Heart Speaks

Some practitioners of modern medicine have started realizing the futility of excessive dependence on mechanical diagnostic procedures. Dr. Mimi Guarneri's book " The Heart Speaks " underlines this fact very convincingly. Dr. Mimi,a USA based Cardiologist, has tried to break the shackles of stereotyped medical practice. She emphasizes on the role of emotive disorders & stress as major causative factors of organic diseases. She stresses the need for psychological support to patients & asserts that doctors must find time to listen to patients instead of giving routine treatments. Citing cases from her practice she has substantiated her point beyond doubt. She has a very open mind & does not refrain from talking about the importance of alternate healing methods. The problem, however, is -- " will the doctors listen to her sane advice ? " Prior to the of study medicine she cherished the idea of being a Doctor of Philosophy. Well, this is her thesis on the " Philosophy of Medicine. " Congratulations Dr. Guarneri.
